Kelli (Fangonilo) Formosa played at Palo Alto High School where she was a 4 year starter on varsity with a batting average over .600 for her high school career. Was selected All-SCVAL First-Team al four years, while earning team MVP honors in 2003-2005. She was league MVP her senior year and offensive MVP at Palo Alto her freshmen season. She played club ball for Strike Zone out of Union City. Kelli received many scholarships to play Division 1 softball but ended up playing for University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Kelli redshirted her freshmen year (2005-2006 season) but in her sophomore campaign she started 63 of a possible 64 games as designated hitter and second base…compiling a second highest batting average for the Rebels in 2007 at .312 and stole 18 of 23 bases.

Fangonilo transfered to San Jose State in her sophomore year where she started all 61 games for the Spartans, 60 at shortstop and one at second base. She batter .304 with 59 hits, 42 runs and 34 RBI while hitting in the 3 hole the entire season. Batted .311 in her junior year starting 55 of 56 games. She lead her team in doubles (12) and in RBI (26). In her senior season she started 58 of 59 games for the Spartans and lead the team with a .364 batting average, was 14 of 16 in stolen bases and lead the team with 17 doubles. Fangonilo continues to lead the Spartan Record books in many categories (as of 2016 season).

Kelli is now retired from softball but continues to be apart of the game by giving lessons and clinics throughout the community. She was married in 2013 to San Formosa and they now have two children, Sal II (2015) and Georgia (2016).
